The Wine
It’s a little-known fact. But the hills above South Devon’s Dart Valley are now one of the UK’s finest vineyard regions, with a history stretching back four decades. Winemaker Duncan Schwabb and the Sharpham vineyard have been there from the start of Devon’s vinous revolution. The region’s maritime climate and well-draining volcanic soils help grapes ripen to perfection, producing wines with gentle aromatics, ripe fruit and balancing acidity. Grower’s Selection is made from the region’s principal grape, Madeleine Angevine, with touches of Bacchus and Chardonnay. It has pear and lemon-thyme aromas with a citrus freshness that makes it a superb choice with local seafood dishes such as dressed crab or traditional fish and chips.

A red-fruited, earthy palate that flirts between sweetness and sourness. Gloriously unique
